😵‍💫 Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave

+ NVIDIA is building the backbone of Europe’s AI future, OpenAI released its most capable reasoning model, and Amazon is training humanoid robots to deliver packages

Not the Apple that Steve Jobs built.

This year’s Apple event, WWDC, gave us a mid-tier UI and an AI-powered Siri that still can’t hold a real conversation. Innovation? You decide. Here’s what’s actually new in iOS 26. While Apple polishes the surface, NVIDIA used GTC Paris to unveil how it’s building the backbone of Europe’s AI future with quantum breakthroughs, sovereign models, and agentic robots. See event highlights of their power play.

Meanwhile, OpenAI just dropped o3‑Pro, their sharpest reasoning model yet and slashed o3 pricing by 80%. It’s built to think, not hallucinate and it's outperforming some of their own earlier releases. And Amazon? They’re training humanoid robots to walk up your driveway and deliver your Prime packages.

Let’s get into it.

“What a computer is to me is the most remarkable tool that we have ever come up with. It’s the equivalent of a bicycle for our minds.”

Apple

This Is Not the Apple Steve Jobs Built

Apple’s WWDC 2025 was supposed to mark its big moment in AI. Instead, it confirmed what many feared: Apple isn’t leading anymore. It’s refining, reacting, and falling behind.

In a world where OpenAI, Google, and Meta are launching real-time AI agents, multimodal assistants, and reasoning-capable models, Apple showed up with a translucent UI, a mid-tier Siri update, and AI features the competition shipped a year ago.

🧠 Apple Intelligence (AI Tools)

  • Apple Intelligence can summarize, find files, and hand off tasks to ChatGPT, but Siri still can’t hold context or real conversations

  • Visual Intelligence mimics Google Lens from years ago: tap text on screen to search or translate

  • Writing help, notification cleanup, and basic image gen round out the list…all features we’ve seen before

  • Only available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer (A17+ chip)

🧪 Performance? Even Apple Knows It’s Behind

  • Apple’s benchmarks show its models losing to GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5, and Llama 4 in both text and image tasks

  • Siri’s true “next-gen” version? Delayed until 2026, and it wasn’t demoed and was quietly removed from Apple’s site

  • Analysts called the keynote “a dud”

🌊 Liquid Glass = Cosmetic Overhaul

  • Big UI update: translucent menus, rounded icons, animated transitions

  • No upgrade to how the iPhone actually works and users say it’s harder to read, adding no value

📉 Apple’s AI Momentum Is Slipping

  • Down 20% YTD, losing $750B in market value

  • Now behind Microsoft and Nvidia, two companies setting the AI agenda

  • Even Jony Ive (ex-design chief) is now working with OpenAI to build the next device era

Apple isn’t leading the AI era…it’s following from behind. Apple is shipping watered-down features and calling them innovation. Most users still rely on Apple, but the gap between expectation and reality is growing fast. If this is the future of the iPhone, it’s not nearly enough.

NVIDIA

NVIDIA's GTC Paris 2025: Powering Europe’s AI Revolution

At GTC Paris, held during Europe’s massive VivaTech festival, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang delivered a message: Europe isn’t just adopting AI, it’s building its own. Huang unveiled a sweeping vision: supercharged AI chips, robotic systems, quantum computing, and national-scale AI infrastructure, all designed to turn Europe into a global AI hub.

🔍 Highlights That Matter:

🖥️ Blackwell Ultra & Rubin Superchips

  • Blackwell Ultra (shipping late 2025) will offer 1.5× more AI performance, liquid-cooled for data-center efficiency.

  • By 2026 and 2027, Vera Rubin and Rubin Ultra will boost performance by 3–14×, combining advanced GPUs and CPUs for the next generation of AI power.

🏗️ Europe’s AI "Factories" Go Live

  • NVIDIA is rolling out 1,000 GB200 systems per week, partnering with BMW, Volvo, Siemens, and cloud providers to build national AI clouds.

  • New AI development hubs are launching across Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the U.K.

  • Europe’s first Industrial AI Cloud, built in Germany using NVIDIA Omniverse, will help manufacturers simulate, automate, and optimize at scale.

🤖 Robots & Agentic AI

  • Isaac GR00T N1, an open-source robot-reasoning model, arrives on Hugging Face.

  • The Cosmos simulation platform and Newton physics engine (with DeepMind & Disney) train AI robots virtually before real-world use.

🔧 AI Software for Sovereign Nations

  • Dynamo (open-source) runs AI efficiently at scale—think of it as the operating system of AI factories.

  • Nemotron multilingual models let Europe host sovereign, local AI with privacy and data control.

🔬 Quantum-Classical Hybrids

  • CUDA-Q is live on Denmark’s Gefion supercomputer and NVIDIA systems—kickstarting hybrid quantum-AI research across Europe’s labs.

🌍 Why the World Should Care

NVIDIA isn’t just selling chips, but it’s building the backbone of Europe’s AI future. From sovereign models to robotic factories and quantum labs, it’s becoming the infrastructure behind a new industrial revolution. As agentic AI rises and inference demand explodes (8M → 800M users), NVIDIA isn’t just riding the wave, it’s shaping it. With Europe’s push for digital sovereignty and strong AI regulation, NVIDIA’s vision could drive a decade of growth, security, and scientific breakthroughs.

OpenAI's Most Capable Reasoning Model

OpenAI just released o3‑Pro, its sharpest, most capable reasoning model yet. It’s based on the o3 foundation, but tuned for clarity, consistency, and accuracy in domains that break most models: math, code, science, and structured logic. It reasons step-by-step, reviews its own thinking, and passes one of OpenAI’s toughest benchmarks.

⚙️ Key Upgrades

  • Beats o3 and o1‑Pro across STEM, business, and education tasks

  • 4/4 Reliability Benchmark — passes all 4 tries, not just one-off hits

  • Smarter Tools — uses Python, web browsing, file analysis, vision, and memory

  • Higher Real-World Accuracy — outperforms Claude 4 on GPQA and Gemini 2.5 on AIME 2024

  • Live Now in API + ChatGPT — replaces o1‑Pro for Pro & Team plans

  • Premium Pricing — $20/million input tokens, $80/million output

🛑 Limitations: No image generation, no Canvas, and temporary chats only (for now)

🧠 What It’s Built For

  • Precision math, coding, and structured logic

  • Scientific research, tutoring, and technical writing

  • High-stakes agents that need accuracy > speed

  • Analyzing complex documents and workflows

OpenAI is betting that the next frontier of AI isn’t flash, it’s follow-through. In a landscape filled with hallucinations, this model aims to bring proof-backed reasoning to the mainstream. And with GPT-5 still under wraps, o3‑Pro signals a clear direction: AI that can show its work and get it right.

Amazon

Amazon Is Training Humanoid Robots for Package Delivery

Amazon has quietly started training bipedal humanoid robots to deliver packages. The project, run out of a robotics lab outside Boston, uses Digit — a two-legged robot from Agility Robotics — to navigate warehouses and test real-world delivery scenarios. Unlike fixed-arm warehouse bots, these machines can walk, pick up packages, and adapt to changing environments.

The goal? A fully autonomous last-mile delivery system where robots do what humans do — but without the labor costs. It’s early days, but Amazon says the tech is advancing fast enough to deploy in the field "within the decade." The robot revolution isn’t coming. It’s already clocking in.
